Participants have the option to pay a deposit of 50% at the time of registration to secure their seat. All remaining fees will be due 14 days prior to the start of the course.


This intensive course will be presented to 12 general dentist and/or specialists, one day per month for 10 consecutive months. The course will provide education for participants on the history, science and evidence of implant dentistry, the use of the latest technology to evaluate the patient and the development of an appropriate treatment plan to replace a partially edentulous area with implants.

The course will include training in case selection and presurgical treatment planning, including the design and fabrication of surgical implant placement guides to help participants achieve predictable results on a routine basis. Following implant placement training, participants will be guided through postsurgical treatment planning. A digital and analog workflow will be developed to create both provisional and final restorations. A strong orientation will expose participants to the dental laboratory and the restoration fabrication processes. In addition, participants will learn step by step prosthetic workflows on more complex treatment plans using the latest technologies and design software. Multidisciplinary dental protocols including dental laboratory technicians will be highlighted.

Participants will utilize Touro College of Dental Medicine’s state-of-the-art clinical training facility. Course directors and college administration will be responsible for ensuring that all appropriate protocols and precautions are followed.

Course Objectives:

  1. Learn the history, science and evidence of implant dentistry
  2. Develop a prosthetically driven treatment plan involving implants
  3. Learn the diagnostic information required for the surgical management of implant placement including radiology and prosthetic records
  4. Learn the surgical management of implant placement
  5. Develop a postsurgical Prosthodontic workflow including Provisionalization, impression taking, abutment design and fabrication and the digital and analog manufacturing options for the final restorations

Dr. Chafitz is a a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with extensive experience in all aspects of oral surgery including bone grafting, implants and anesthesia. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Chafitz’ practice has evolved into a full scope office-based practice with a particular focus on dental implants, bone grafting, and CAT scan guided surgeries. He prides himself on his merging of years of surgical experience, his thirst for continued knowledge, and his ability to incorporate cutting edge technology in his treatment of surgical patients.

Steven A. Brisman, D.D.S

Dr. Brisman is a renowned Prosthodontist with experience in restorative, aesthetic and implant dentistry. He received his D.M.D. from University of Pennsylvania and his certificate in Prosthodontics from New York University College of Dentistry. He is currently the President of the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, an associate of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and former assistant professor of Post‐Graduate Prosthodontics at NYU College of Dentistry. Dr. Brisman is the founder of Advanced Dentistry of Scarsdale and Chappaqua, an inter‐disciplinary group dental practice, and On‐the‐Mark Dental Laboratory which specializes in the integration of both digital and analog restorative design and fabrication.
