Biography

Dr. Michael Shaffer is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dental Medicine at the Touro College of Dental Medicine (TCDM) and an Assistant Clinical Practice Leader at Touro Dental Health, the college‚Äôs 115-chair dental teaching practice. In addition to his current teaching responsibilities at TCDM, he is an Attending at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem where he lectures to general practice and oral surgery residents regarding prosthetics, endodontics, sedation and implant dentistry, in addition to training first year general practice residents in all phases of restorative dentistry. 

Dr. Shaffer currently owns and maintains a private family practice in Merrick, New York, and is also a treating dentist at the Opportunity Development Association of Williamsburg. He is well-versed in treating phobic patients, children, adults and those with special needs, and his continuing education courses and training focus on the utilization of a dental microscope, sedation, surgery and pediatrics  Dr. Shaffer is BLS, ACLS, and PALS certified and is licensed to practice dentistry and conscious moderate sedation in the state of New York.
