Dr. Steven Syrop is a Clinical Professor of Dental Medicine at the Touro College of Dental Medicine (TCDM) where he is the Co-Director of the Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMD)/Orofacial Pain course and is responsible for training of students in the TMD clinic. In addition to his current teaching responsibilities at TCDM, Dr. Syrop is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he is responsible for training GPR and oral and maxillofacial surgery residents in the clinical care of patients with TMD. In addition, he currently lectures students at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and was previously the Director of Columbia’s TMD-Facial Pain Program where he taught undergraduate dental students, post graduate students, fellows and residents, both didactic and clinical courses in temporomandibular disorders. He currently owns and maintains two private practices, in New York City and Westchester, where he specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of Temporomandibular Disorders, Orofacial Pain and Sleep Apnea/Snoring.

Over the course of his career in dentistry, Dr. Syrop has served as Consultant to New York State Office of Professional Discipline, and currently serves as an Honorary Police Surgeon, consulting with the New York City Police Department with regard to officers injured in the line of duty. He is licensed to practice in the state of New York.
