Dental Education
Our dental education programs start when you’re interested in exploring the field and extend throughout your dental career. We train students to become skilled, compassionate dentists, have a post-graduate training program in orthodontics, a robust continuing education program, and a pre-dental program for those considering pursuing a DDS degree.
“The Touro College of Dental Medicine educational programs are founded upon teaching patient-centered, compassionate care, utilizing the best, most current, biomedical science and evidence.”

Our Programs
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS)
Our four-year DDS degree program integrates biomedical, behavioral, and preclinical sciences, emphasizing ethical decision-making, good communication, and a whole-body perspective. Our state-of-the-art dental simulation laboratory trains students to treat patients clinically at the Touro Dental Health facility. Students work with faculty learning and perfecting techniques in our general dentistry, pediatrics, endodontics, orthodontics, orofacial pain, periodontics, prosthodontics, and oral & maxillofacial surgery clinical practice facilities.
Post-Graduate Training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics
As part of your three-year post-graduate training in orthodontics, you will learn a variety of orthodontic techniques and technologies. You will use advanced diagnostics tools and a comprehensive range of orthodontic modalities to treat a diverse patient population, including special needs and craniofacial anomaly cases, collaborating with various dental specialties.
Continuing Dental Education
We regularly host continuing dental education, including our eight-part series on Special Needs Dentistry that is available online. Some of our recent classes include Achieving Aesthetic Results with Veneers in Everyday Practice, Exploring Current and Future Prospects of Regenerative Materials in Periodontics and Dentistry, and Transforming Lives: Treating Patients with Alzheimer's & Autism.
Pre-Dental
Each summer, we host a one-week boot camp for college students to learn about careers in dentistry and get a small taste of dental school.
“The amount of hands-on experience we get here--wax up, suturing, doing the impressions. I would not have had this experience otherwise.”
