From Student to Practitioner
Touro College of Dental Medicine Hosts American Student Dental Association and Student Professional Ethics Association Event
In its first meeting together, chapters of the American Student Dental Association and the Student Professional Ethics Association at Touro College of Dental Medicine at New York Medical participated in a lively panel discussion about the role of organized dentistry and what it takes to transition from student to practitioner.
The event covered a variety of topics including professional advocacy and ethics considerations, managing student loans, continuing education and charitable giving. The panel also reviewed the benefits of membership to regional and local organizations such as the Ninth District Dental Association, which covers counties in lower New York State, including Westchester. The goal, said Dr. Mark Bauman, Regent of the American College of Dentists, is “to make you the best dentist you can be.”
