Great Things Are Happening in Albuquerque
Touro Dental Health, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Officially Started Seeing Its First Patients on June 25

The state-of-the-art new patient clinic in Albuquerque, Touro Dental Health, was a hub of activity for the past two of weeks, as the amazing teams of TCDM New Yorkers and New Mexico joined forces to work on the final "go live" plans before the opening.
On June 25, Touro Dental Health officially started seeing its first patients in the new clinic. Even though the staff are working in a space still being perfected, they are thrilled with our beautiful new clinic and the opportunity to support the oral health needs of new neighbors and friends in New Mexico.
This has been years in the planning, as New Mexico experiences severe shortages in dental professionals, especially in rural communities. Almost 1 million New Mexicans live in areas that lack dental health professionals, with 32 of 33 counties designated as shortage areas.
“TCDM is thrilled to expand to New Mexico and create the first ultra-modern, world-class dental clinical training facility in the state. Our mission is to improve oral health care and graduate outstanding dental professionals who deliver excellent health care service to diverse communities,” said TCDM Dean Ronnie Myers, D.D.S. “With the first pre-doctoral dental student clinical educational facility in New Mexico, we will provide an opportunity to deliver much needed low-cost oral health care to underserved communities while at the same time expanding local access to New Mexico students interested in becoming dentists.”
“I am committed to fostering an environment where both students and faculty thrive, and to advancing the mission of TCDM at this new facility,” Dr. Joseph Parkinson said, executive assistant dean at Touro College of Dental Medicine in New Mexico.
