David Katz

Dr. David J. Katz is the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and an Associate Professor of Dental Medicine at Touro College of Dental Medicine. In this role, Dr. Katz oversees the Quality Assurance, Clinical Policy, D3 and D4 Student Academic Performance Review, Infection Prevention, Instrument and Materials Committees and also serves on the TCDM Senior Leadership committee. Having practiced dental medicine for more than 35 years, Dr. Katz previously served as Associate Clinical Professor of Dentistry at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and Director of Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning at New York Presbyterian Hospital and Booth Memorial Hospital, where he served on the Credentials Committee and Resident Selection Committee. Dr. Katz has distinguished himself with advanced continuing education courses which earned him the title of FAGD, and he also took advanced training in Implantology.

Dr. Katz has been honored for his dedicated service as a member of the Dental Identification Unit for 9/11 victims, receiving recognition from both the City of New York and Congress. He is well known for his expertise and scholarly lectures in Jewish Law as it pertains to the practice of dentistry, having authored several academic articles and a full text, Kesser Dovid, The Halachic Guide to Dentistry. Licensed to practice in the state of New York and New Jersey, he is currently in private practice with Dr. Rebecca Block in Teaneck, New Jersey, and serves on several committees at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Queens.
