You can continue your dental training at Touro College of Dental Medicine with specialized postdoctoral study in key fields. Our post-graduate training programs include challenging study, research opportunities, and of course, clinical work. We have post-graduate training in orthodontics, general dentistry, and oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Post-Graduate Training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics

The 36-month CODA-accredited post-graduate program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Touro College of Dental Medicine offers a robust curriculum in a state-of-the-art digital dental facility. Students in this post-graduate training program receive extensive experience in patient care, along with evidence-based didactic courses. While treating patients with a wide variety of orthodontic problems, students will meet the requirements and gain the experience necessary for obtaining Certification by the American Board of Orthodontics.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency

The NYMC School of Medicine offers a four-year training program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS). Each year, the program takes in two new residents. Residents rotate at several sites to gain a broad and varied experience in all aspects of full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery.

General Practice Residency

The NYMC-sponsored General Practice Residency Program (GPR) is an American Dental Association one-year program with an optional second year. GPR residents are assigned to one of three clinical training sites. Residents who successfully complete the program fulfill the New York State requirements for licensure by PGY-1 training.
